Sage 200
Sage has recently contacted customers regarding SQL Server 2025, including a licence attachment for each customer.
An error has been identified in the licence attachment, which also affects licence attachments previously issued for SQL Server 2022.
The error relates to how licence quantities are displayed in the attachment.
What do you need to do?
Nothing — no action is required.
Sage will not issue revised licence attachments. Instead, they have provided clarification on how the licence information shown in the existing attachment should be interpreted.
Sage will also contact affected customers directly to explain the issue. If you have any questions about your licence information, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
Understanding your SQL Server licence
The licence quantities are displayed incorrectly in the Core Licence section of the attachment.
For SQL Server supplied with Sage 200:
- Each installation includes one Server Licence.
- The Server Licence includes one Client Access Licence (CAL).
- Any additional licences are User Client Access Licences (CALs).
Example
If your licence attachment states:
Core Licence: 37 (Thirty Seven)
This should be interpreted as:
- Server Licence: 1 — including 1 CAL
- User Client Access Licences: 36
Therefore, the total of 37 represents 1 Server Licence plus 36 User CALs.
